We are looking for a highly-motivated and enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of A&
E Receptionist. You willbe able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, whose aim is to provide a professional, friendly and patient-focused service to patients attending the A&
E Department and our newly created Urgent Treatment Centre.
You will have experience of dealing with the general public and be able to manage difficult situations. Good IT and keyboard skills are essential as the workload is predominantly computer based. You will have GCSE or equivalent in English Language together with good verbal and written communication skills.
You will need to be able to remain calm in a pressured and stressful environment. A good telephone manner, confidence and a positive helpful manner is essential. You will be able to demonstrate sensitivity and discretion when dealing with matters that areconfidential in nature.
You will be expected to complete a number of administrative tasks and, therefore, must be able to multi-skill whilst ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.
The work is varied and includes supporting the achievement of national NHS targets.
This role forms part of a rota providing cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You will need to be able to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays, including Christmas and New Year. You will need to be flexible to cover colleagues’ shifts for annual leave and sickness, sometimes at short notice.
