We are looking for a leader comfortable with overseeing a designated section of the business including driving a KPI environment and with P&L management. Business Unit Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the Business Unit Director of Operations
  • Provide management and direction to the relevant unit.
  • Ensure the unit meets all metrics; sales, fixed costs, variable cost, ESH, productivity, headcount, overtime, inventory, AR, AP and EBIT
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction and standard of products is maintained.
  • Relationship building and liaison with internal/external customers, as required.
  • Ensure that working practices and operational methods are appropriate to maintain site competitiveness.
  • Develop a culture which supports process management and continuous improvement in alignment with company strategy.
  • Works closely with finance to ensure reporting standards are met.
  • Preparation and coordination of the operations budget to ensure maximum cost control.
  • Work actively with HR to attract, develop, retain and motivate staff and build and maintain a strong and effective team.
  • Talent management skills and abilities to identify and develop key talent and a strategically focused workforce within the manufacturing organisation.

  • Proven Leadership background
  • Experience within an Engineering / Manufacturing background
  • Excellent leadership qualities, positively model’s behaviour and leads by example.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage managers.
  • Excellent communication skills written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation.
  • Excellent financial, commercial and operational acumen.
  • Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritise tasks.
  • Analytical thinker.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Desirable Skills:

Degree educated or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. engineering)
