About the role:
Your primary role as a Customer Driver Instructor is to safely operate the trains ECTL run, keeping to a strict schedule whilst keeping customers and colleagues safe. You'll also play a crucial role in ensuring new recruits to the East Coast TrainsDriver team are effectively supported and trained into their new role. You'll be acting as a role model and be responsible for coaching and mentoring our Apprentice, Part Qualified and Qualified Customer Drivers, ensuring that all training is delivered to the highest standard, including route learning, rules, regulations and traction knowledge.
You will also deliver engaging safety briefs and offer day to day support to the driver team, to ensure the highest possible safety standards are delivered promoting the East Coast Trains Limited image and values of customer experience at all times.
You will support the Customer and Operations Excellence Manager (COEM) in the execution of their duties. This may include producing and deliver training both classroom based and practical, perform assessments, briefings, on call duties, incident investigations etc as directed by the COEM.

We would also ask that you hold:
A European train driving license with a minimum of 3 years Driving Competence A proven safety record The ability to use and embrace new technology
Relevant route knowledge (Edinburgh – London), assessment and training experience would be beneficial although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
