Our client is a large independent freight forwarder based in Greater Manchester. Due to expansion they are now looking to recruit a Customs Declaration Clerk in Salford Your role will be to arrange customs clearance of all consignments to meet customers' requirements Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Completing customs declarations and submitting to HMRC Raising Duty / VAT invoices for any declarations Ensure full accuracy of all declarations completed Ensure clearance instructions received from the customers Ensure customs compliance is maintained with all aspects of HMRC interactions Ensure compliance in line with AEO Follow up declarations until customs clearance is obtained Work with operations / sales / management / directors to assist with any customs queries either internal or external, including but not limited to o Assist with classification o Assist with valuation o Assist with documentation o Customs procedures Monitor deferment account Ensure any HMRC amendments are completed within reasonable timeframe of an error becoming apparent Monitor and maintain CFSP / Warehousing removals for integrated clients. Remain up to date with changes to trade tariff Notify relevant departments of any HMRC changes which may affect customers Experience:
Experience in field of customs declarations Experience of Data Freight System. Proven ability to classify goods Experience in reading and interpretation the trade tariff Skills:
Ability to complete customs declarations with speed and accuracy. Commitment to quality approach to service provision. Be able to demonstrate an excellent attention to detail Knowledge:
Current knowledge of developments in UK / EU customs environment. Knowledge and understanding of the import logistic chain - in terms of documents required to ensure process runs smoothly
