Head Of Finance
This high profile finance role will be a senior member of the Finance Leadership Team, bringing strategic insight, a sounding board for the CFO and Deputy CFO\ 's and be able to influence key stakeholders within the finance team and senior level executives. They will instinctively understand the requirements of the FTSE100 PLC operating environment and will play a key role in taking the Ocado Finance Function to a new level as part of the wider Group and Finance transformation agenda.
Leading a team of 18 - 20 across Financial Planning and Analysis, Group Operations Business Partners and the Oracle Finance Systems Helpdesk.
The role will span the period-end reporting framework and the budget, forecast and planning processes, driving alignment across each of these key aspects. They will also collaborate to strengthen the interactions between FP&
A and other Group finance areas such as Tax, Treasury, Financial Reporting, Financial Control, Finance Ops, Commercial Finance, our partners in Ocado Retail, and the wider stakeholder community.
The role will require strong business partnering to the Leadership teams of the People Function, the Group General Counsel and the CFO Functions within Business Support. Also working very closely with the CFO and Finance &
Responsible for ensuring that the Oracle Systems help desk and the EPM planning tools are fully supported, and the configuration is optimised and used widely across finance for all planning and reporting purposes. Working closely with the Group IT team to ensure alignment of technical development with finance needs.
The role will work closely with the management team to influence, shape, support and deliver on new projects strategic plans and budgets whilst ensuring appropriate financial processes and controls are implemented to achieve business goals.
What you will be doing?
Establish a clear vision and strategy for the FP&
A function (includes FP&
A team, Hyperion and Group Operations teams), and the OFST team, continually striving for best practice.
Own the five year plan process (P&
L, Cash Flow and BalanceSheet), working directly with the key stakeholders to build one consolidated view of the business, that provides reporting for both management accounts, and external segmental reporting. Own the preparation of the five year plan paper for the board.
Define, own and run the overall budgeting and forecasting process for the Group (P&
L and Capex). Ensure that the consolidated plan is realistic, the assumptions are clear, and the risks and opportunities and sensitives are clearly identified.
Be the go to person for the CFO and Deputy CFOs for all management and Segmental reporting and the planning process. Work with the leadership team to drive performance and act as a strategic sounding board.
Own the Period End Management process across finance ensuring timely close of each period end, and all accounts are fully reconciled and the accounting judgements made are clear and signed off.
Produce Board papers for Period End, forecast, budget and support the Financial Reporting team in developing the Half Year and Year End presentations.
Own the finance relationship with the various Group Operations Stakeholders (CFO and Deputy CFOs, CPO and People Leadership team and the Group General Counsel and the GGC leadership team.
Ensure that Hyperion EBPCS and FCCS is the tool of choice for supporting all management / segmental reporting and the planning process. Ensure the configuration is continuously improved to optimise performance and the experience of the users.
Provide leadership to the Oracle Systems Team, ensuring the team is fully supported, and resourced appropriately, while liaising with the Group tech team to understand and support delivery of the project pipeline.
10 years post qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Experience in senior FP&
A roles and preferably experience of group reporting in a FTSE 250 PLC organisation
Experience of owning a complex budget cycle across multiple business units as well as developing strategy plans
Ability to confidently present complex financial information to C-Level Executives and influence decision making
Ability to develop strong cross functional relationships
Willing to take on a hands on approach to support the team deliverables
