Our client is a leading UK Wealth Management business that has enjoyed exceptional growth in the past few years they are now seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer Location:
Bromsgrove, England Description Manage, support and maintain overall responsibility for the management of back end services, AD services, and operational services such as Azure, Sharepoint, Backup, AD, SQL, Exchange and associated applications within a Windows and Mac environment. Develop and maintain documentation for systems and procedures for network usage Perform user and access administration on designated systems and applications, in accordance with the defined policies, standards and procedures of the company. Apply patches where appropriate and, at the direction of the IT Manager, remove or otherwise mitigate known control weaknesses, such as unnecessary services or applications or redundant user accounts, as a means of hardening systems in accordance with security policies and standards. Report unresolved network security exposures, misuse of resources or noncompliance situations using defined escalation processes. Resolve network outages, misconfigurations, and complex networking issues on devices within agreed SLAs. Provide overflow support to IT Team. Hyper-V management, rearrangement of hosts and servers. Setup and manage infrastructure including clustering. Distribute and Champion procedures, Systems, and Network principles, acting as a mentor where appropriate. Research, recommend, evaluate and implement information system solutions that provide value-added services to the business. Provide systems guidance to the various members of the IT team and overall Business Implement operational procedures, tools, and best practices. Achieve required levels of operational scalability & performance/ Participate in the execution of Disaster Recovery exercises and own specific server tasks. Responsible for Change review of managed services Ensure all changes are documented through the change management process. Execute change management tasks in line with defined processes. Undertake IT project work as instructed by the project team. Provide support to the helpdesk and contribute to our knowledge Base improving processes and procedures. Be willing and able to work out of hours as and when required or requested by the business

Requirements Core Skills:
excellent microsoft server skills. windows and mac client server operating environments active directory and group policy working with both internal and external audit functions powershell or command line knowledge (e. g. windows, linux) knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, vpn and associated network protocols and concepts (snmp, http/https, smtp, ntp, ldap, kerberos, sftp, etc. ) strong knowledge of tcp/ip and network administration/protocols advanced problem-solving skills. exceptional customer service. strong english communication skills. understanding of network infrastructure exposure to microsoft azure/cloud technologies microsoft windows server 2008/2012/2016 microsoft desktop technologies (windows 7 onwards) experience:
experience of working within the banking / financial sector and sound understanding of regulatory requirements (dpa, and fca) (essential) experience providing it security assurance on complex projects (desired) strong risk management knowledge and experience (essential) strong analytical skills (essential) experience of reviewing system design documentation;
including detailed infrastructure designs, service acceptance criteria, system logs etc. (essential) ability to provide input to security requirements for complex it and business operations (essential) has awareness of problem solving procedures used for business-critical it incidents (essential) network infrastructure design, firewalls, ids/ips, dns/dhcp (essential) cloud storage;
