Nelson Permanent Placements are proud to be representing our client who is an award-winning Manufacturing company based in the Swindon Area. Our client is now looking for an Manufacturing Operations Manager to run the day to day activities in the plant. To be considered for this role you must have a strong personality and have a proven track record in driving positive change within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to roll thier sleeves up and manage various aspects of the plant like Planning & Logistics. Our client works with Steel therefore someone managed teams within this manufacturing area would be ideal. The ideal candidate will have experience and a solid understanding using lean tool tools. Salary Upto £38k + Bonus Responsibilities:
Manage employees daily activities to ensure production efficiencies Conduct regular performance feedback to employees and senior management Conduct monthly and annual performance reviews Conduct disciplinary in line with company process where needed Ensure employees are trained in the fundamentals of production as well as cross train the staff on key equipment and processes Assign tasks and projects to group leads Work alongside and support other department functions Support engagement and alignment activity across the function Ensure full compliance with H&S and environmental policies and processes Supervise and coordinate activities of workers who are engaged in the production of all product related parts Understand specifications and job orders to achieve specification Change hours where required by production schedules to complete job assignments within deadlines and plan production in line with sales orders Coordinate daily with the planning department Meet KPI’s of production targets and aid in the completion of visual results display boards Set targets and use Lean tools such as, Gemba, SMED and Kaizan in daily practices throughout the department Resolve and analyze work related problems Daily review of key business data to ensure informed decisions are made on the overall operation of the plant Qualifications GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English. A level/Degree Experience Strong leadership skills. Understands the manufacturing process. Experience in a fast paced environment Experience in a manufacturing environment. Personal Attributes Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team and using your own initiative. Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to use both Word & Excel. Able to demonstrate influencing skills
