I am supporting one of my clients with the recruitment of a warehouse and facilities manager at their UK location based in the South Marston area. As a warehouse and facilities manager, your overall responsibility will be for the warehouse function and team, and all site facilities within the Swindon location.
On a day to day basis this will include;
*Managing the warehouse team and their activities
*Develop the warehouse set-up to provide the best logistics service available in the market
*Supporting the team with their personal performance and development
*Working with the team as a leader and colleague, you will need to have a hands-on approach for approx. 40-50% of your time, with some variation depending on work load
*Ensuring that the customer experience and expectation is exceeded at all times through an efficient operation
*Taking overall responsibility for the receipt and dispatch of all goods and site services
*Making the most efficient use of time and space through robust processes
*Full responsibility and management of the Health & Safety policies and review for the site, this will include all team training
*Analysis and management of any customer complaints and queries
*Implementation and management of all staff training within the warehouse (team of 5). This includes fork lift, H&S and task based training
*Stock audits as required
*Full site budget management and close cooperation with the production unit at the company headquarters in Scandinavia, to ensure the right inventory levels
*Review of service levels provided by and to the organisation
*Full security and key holding management for the site
*Dealing with any site/facility issues as reported by the business
*Reporting to the group supply chain director located at the headquarters in Scandinavia

Skill and experience required;
*Minimum of 5 years plus of working within a warehouse and facilities management position
*Strong track record of good Health & Safety procedures and operations
*Previous experience of managing a team in all aspects (recruitment, daily review, annual appraisals and performance conversations if ever needed)
*Able to demonstrate experience of managing budgets, writing reports and analysing business performance
*Previous experience of managing facilities for a site, including arranging all services and facilities
*Excellent record of delivering a high level of customer services
*Must have strong communication skills
*Experience of working to the principles of LEAN would be highly beneficial
*Fork lift licence would be an advantage
*Experience of using a stock management and order system is essential

This is a job whereby you will have to be a team manager and a team player. Being a smaller team, you will be required to undertake all aspects of work that your team conduct on a day to day basis, in addition to the site facilities and warehouse management. With a head office based in central Scandinavia, you will be required to travel for a 2 week induction period, and possibly on an odd occasion each year.

The interview process will be 2-4 stages which will include;
Telephone interview and face to face interview with me. Face to face interview with the client during the afternoon of 17th September and in the morning of 18th September, followed by a possible Skype interview with another contact within the recruiting company. Finally, there will be a personality profile that you will need to complete, which I will arrange on your behalf. As part of this process, you will also be required to provide copies of any certificates that you hold and references for your previous 5 years of work history.
