The Role
The Product Developer will contribute as software engineer to evolve product and services towards the delivery of world class enterprise customer solutions aligned with the vision of Vodafone?s connectivity Portfolio.
The Product Developer will be working with a team of architects, technical designers, and other developers to build next generation software defined network solutions.
Purpose of the team is to build best in class products/services ? from MVP to a full productThe role will involve understanding networking foundational concepts, learning about different connectivity technologies, fixed and mobile, with a specific focus on more advanced network architecture and technologies, API and programming approaches used for SDN, Infrastructure as a Code covering a wide range virtualised and Cloud scenarios.
The role will involve using DevOps methodologies to develop components and capabilities as part of a E2E solution following Vodafone common models, practices and adoption of open API standards.The team will be managing work through Agile tools and framework, so good knowledge of this and how to work within it is desirable
This role will be to deliver on the following:
Design and build components and end to end SDWAN/NFV solutions
Application &
SW engineering with focus in all areas of advanced network systems
Customizing SW and implementing to 3rd party physical and virtual environments
Introducing new features and concepts into carrier networks
Ensure the design and development embrace Vodafone technology model, methodology and standards
Engage with Commercial and Product Management functions to collect and discuss requirements and solutions
Support or own the creation/development of service scenarios and component, including Yang/Tosca models, artifacts, code snippets, etc.
Keep up-to-date on latest technologies, trends and relevant vendors on modern software defined network modelling and development
Present solution to technical and not technical audience and run know-how transfer sessions
Ability to continuously learn and grow in both technical and soft skills areas
Develop and nurture a growth and solution driven mindset
Endeavour to be a pro-active team player, capable to be part of a high performance team, capable to deal with multiple workloads and prioritising the most relevant activities

Deliver the technical Product Collateral such as the Technical Service Description, technical options paper, Product technical HLD and provide Solutions Consultant guidance that underpins the product.
Product technical leadership ? Defining and delivering the Technology solution to meet product requirements.
Review technical documents from suppliers that underpin the solution and support delivery teams to align activities to product solution
To deliver products on time and to budget, meeting the key business and customer outcomes
Ensure Vodafone Customers benefit from the latest technological advances to get the best possible customer experience and identifying opportunities for innovation of the product portfolio
Create software and documentation for product/solution for the assigned areas
Review of functional requirements in line with desired customer functions/solutions
Support overall product strategy for Connectivity services as part of system architecture &
Review and refine end to end service models
Ability to master complex problems and summarise them in simple terms, based on target audience

Experience in working in virtual and multinational teams, with proven record of delivering goals in matrix organisations
Ability to manage multiple &

Strong communication and presentation skills with proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
Must have core expertise in a good number of topics on network infrastructures enabling Systems and Tools applicable to the SDN and NFV market
Solid understanding of SW development, devops approach
SW Development:
Python, JS/ React/ NodeJS, RESTful WebServices
Experience with infrastructure/service declarative modelling, and any of the following:
JSON/XML or Yang/Netconf/Tosca
Understanding of API methodology and API gateways.
Virtualization and orchestration (VM, Containers, Kubernetes)
Cloud and cloud-native application concepts with some expertise to work in either AWS or GCP and containers/K8S
Practice on automation and Infrastructure as a Code technologies:
Ansible/ Terraform / CloudFormation, etc
Technical knowledge in IP data networking and in non CLI driven device configuration
